Under the Radar

The Under the Radar magazine redesign involved updating the style of magazine while keeping the appeal to its indie music fans. The magazine needed to be hip but not too sexy. The concept that carried the redesign was the square. It is something different from other magazines on the self, imitates the shape of vinyl records, and is more intimate fitting in a back jean pocket rolled up. In addition to the size, the font choices, color and layout were drastically altered to give this publication a life of its own. Student work—concept and design.
